Take your time and make it to a really special destination. Amaze yourself with scenery like you’ve never seen before. Alpine Lake Hikes take you to timberline and above where you’ll discover emerald green and azure blue alpine lakes hidden at the head of ancient glacial valleys.

Super-rugged alpine scenery surrounds you, and there are many different levels of trail-difficulty to choose from. Our Alpine Lake Hikes typically start below treeline at about 9,000 to 10,000 ft., then rise to timberline at about 11,500 ft. Some of the more difficult lakes are well above12,000 ft.

These hikes are in the Eagles Nest Wilderness Area, the Holy Cross Wilderness Area, and the Collegiate Peaks Wilderness Area.

Oftentimes alpine lakes have high passes above them, so we can adjust the destination once we make it to the lake.

We typically pick up for an Alpine Lake Hike at 7:30 am, but because it is your own private tour the timing is flexible to fit your needs. We usually drop off between 3-5pm. The tour includes a picnic lunch, and we take your lunch order, so everyone gets the type of sandwich, wrap, or salad that they prefer.

Our private guided tours are easy for you to plan. We pick you up at the door of your hotel or residence, transport you to the trailhead, and provide all of the gear that you will need to be outfitted like a pro.
